The Harry Rosen Interactive CD ROM was a major step for Harry Rosen. Described as a “first in retail fashion”, the media was quick to pick up the story and provide Harry Rosen with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free advertising through PR exposure. The Globe
and Mail described it well in the following paragraphs:
"...By simply clicking on a mouse, one can move backwards and forwards through the catalogue’s “pages.” Whenever a piece of clothing catches the viewer’s eye, he can click onto a close-up, complete with descriptive caption and retail price points...The program also provides video “dress up” and “dress down” options for any given suit or sports jacket ensemble, an educational extra that the store feels will strengthen its tailored-clothing sales...”
- The Globe & Mail, Thursday April 20th, 1995
What The Globe doesn’t mention here is that the CD is also filled with video, sounds and hotspots designed to educate the user on everything from tying a loose fit tie to picking the perfect band collared shirt. And if printed catalogues are still your favorite you can even print out those pages in brilliant 24bit colour.
